Tad Richards

Writers' group re-forming in New Paltz-Rosendale area

This is a group that met for several years and was, I think, challenging and beneficial to all of us. Mutual respect, but searching and challenging critiques. We haven't settled on a night yet...anyone interested let me know.

Hi. I'm very interested, so long as you don't mind including an unpublished, novice, but serious writer. Are you thinking of limiting the group by genre, i.e., poetry, creative non-fiction, etc.? I would join either way. A genre-delimited group would encourage me to hone my writing in one area, whereas an open group would be good for me in terms of cross-pollination.

Hi, I'm interested. Am busy with a novel. Have published poetry and short stories. Very serious. Travel alot, usually away during the winter but keep in touch via email. Would like more info.

I'm interested. I'm a member of writing group and it's open to all genres. Mostly it's short prose and poetry. This works out fine. It's a nice change of pace to switch from one to the other. The real question, to my mind, is format. What do we do? How do we do it? What I'm looking for is serious yet kind critique. Not just "great, great." But critique may not be everyone's wish. So it's these issues that need to get sorted out. But I'm definitely up for it.

Constance -- we got to eight people very quickly (I was surprised -- if I'd 'a known it was this easy, I would have done it earlier) and decided that any more would make it unwieldy.
