Eileen Charbonneau

Welcome! I write historical novels which have been published by St. Martins, Kensington, Orchard Books (Scholastic) and Tor for Kids. Some of my stories take place here, like the Woods Family Trilogy, three young adult novels set in the Catskill mountains over the first half of the 19th century.

My for-grown up novels include The Randolph Legacy,Rachel LeMoyne and Waltzing in Ragtime, all published by St. Martins (Forge Books).
My agent and I are currently shopping around a Civil War novel called Seven Aprils and a series of suspense novels about a Navajo code talker during World War II.

In my life in performance, I'm a storyteller of Celtic and Native American tales. I belong to a duo called SISTERS IN STORY (with Juilene Osborne-McKnight) and a trio called A CLASS ACT (with Marilyn Heberling and giom grech).

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Thanks Eileen

Glad you were not offended by my asking. Hopefully, the situation w/ your agent will change. Hope you're having a good summer.

All the best,

Geoffrey

Hi Ellen,

Never got a reply to my last comment. Hope you didn't think I w as being pushy. If so, I apologize. It's just so difficult w/ my limited credits to get an agent to even look at my work. I don't want any special "in's" - just the chance to be considered.

Hope you're having a great summer and still would love to have lunch if you're ever in the area.

BTW: is your agent interested in or willing to consider new clients? If so, in addition to the plays, I have written three novels and would love to show her my work. I am not looking for a recommendation since you don't know me or my work but perhaps simply an introduction. Per my profile, I had a career in finance before turning to writing. In addition to the play that was produced (with another one scheduled for a festival this fall), I've had two stories published in literary journals. The play scheduled for this fall was also published. So while not extensive, I've had some modest success with my writing. Hopefully enough to induce an agent to at least take a peek.

All the best,

Geoffrey
